Allanite means: A silicate containing a large amount of cerium. It is usually black in color, opaque, and is related to epidote in form and composition.
Aphanite means: A very compact, dark-colored /ock, consisting of hornblende, or pyroxene, and feldspar, but neither of them in perceptible grains.
