Allogamy means: Fertilization of the pistil of a plant by pollen from another of the same species; cross-fertilization.
Apogamy means: The formation of a bud in place of a fertilized ovule or oospore.
Autogamy means: Self-fertilization, the fertilizing pollen being derived from the same blossom as the pistil acted upon.
Bigamy means: The offense of marrying one person when already legally married to another.
Cenogamy means: The state of a community which permits promiscuous sexual intercourse among its members, as in certain societies practicing communism.
Coenogamy means: The state of a community which permits promiscuous sexual intercourse among its members; -- as in certain primitive tribes or communistic societies.

Zymosimeter means: An instrument for ascertaining the degree of fermentation occasioned by the mixture of different liquids, and the degree of heat which they acquire in fermentation.
