Amenorrhoea means: Retention or suppression of the menstrual discharge.
Apnoea means: Partial privation or suspension of breath; suffocation.
Diarrhoea means: A morbidly frequent and profuse discharge of loose or fluid evacuations from the intestines, without tenesmus; a purging or looseness of the bowels; a flux.
Dyspnoea means: Difficulty of breathing.
Gonorrhoea means: A contagious inflammatory disease of the genitourinary tract, affecting especially the urethra and vagina, and characterized by a mucopurulent discharge, pain in urination, and chordee; clap.
Hypernoea means: Abnormal breathing, due to slightly deficient arterialization of the blood; -- in distinction from eupnoea. See Eupnoea, and Dispnoea.
Ipomoea means: A genus of twining plants with showy monopetalous flowers, including the morning-glory, the sweet potato, and the cypress vine.
Leucorrhoea means: A discharge of a white, yellowish, or greenish, viscid mucus, resulting from inflammation or irritation of the membrane lining the genital organs of the female; the whites.
Melanorrhoea means: An East Indian genus of large trees. Melanorrh/a usitatissima is the lignum-vitae of Pegu, and yelds a valuable black varnish.
Spermatorrhoea means: Abnormally frequent involuntary emission of the semen without copulation.
Zythum means: A kind of ancient malt beverage; a liquor made from malt and wheat.
Zythepsary means: A brewery.
Zythem means: See Zythum.
Zymotic means: Designating, or pertaining to, a certain class of diseases. See Zymotic disease, below.
Zymotic means: Of, pertaining to, or caused by, fermentation.
Zymosis means: A zymotic disease.
Zymosis means: A fermentation; hence, an analogous process by which an infectious disease is believed to be developed.
Zymose means: Invertin.
Zymophyte means: A bacteroid ferment.
Zymosimeter means: An instrument for ascertaining the degree of fermentation occasioned by the mixture of different liquids, and the degree of heat which they acquire in fermentation.
